Hi,
I’m a SQL Server MVP and a database consultant at Kohera
I’ve started my career in the year 2000 in the telecom business as a support engineer.
All call data was stored in SQL Server databases. Starting with SQL Server 2000 and migrating to more recent versions.
It was fun, however, also really stressful because the SQL Server was really the heart of the platform. If the database or server was down, nobody could call anymore… The environment was really interesting because of the high need of high availability of the platform.
After more than 10 years in the telecom business, I decided to move on and leave the Telco part and focus more on the SQL part!
So, about 4 years ago, I became a SQL Server Consultant at Kohera.
Performance tuning, SQL audits, migrations and training are part of the job.
One of my favorite features of SQL Server are implementing high availability and disaster recovery solutions (Microsoft Failover Clustering, AlwaysOn Availability Groups, Database Mirroring, …). I also love to play around with the new Azure features of SQL Server 2014.
Outside of work, I’m a member of the SQL Server User Group in Belgium, and I’m helping to organize SQL Server Days, the largest SQL conference in the Benelux.
I’m also a speaker at local and international SQL events like
- SQL Server Days
- SQL Saturday Slovenia, Exeter, Oslo
- ITProceed
- Microsoft TechNet Live Meetings
